Natalie Sist, the CEO & President of Starz Psychics, is an accomplished professional in the field. She has worked in different projects where she gained valuable experience that allowed her to start her own business and gather the best starz under her own sky.
Starz Psychics started off over 12 years ago and has undergone a lot of changes during that time. The biggest changes included introducing new technologies to their operations: revamping the website, adding sections of new content, and most recently, introducing a built-in calls feature, which became possible thanks to MightyCall.
Looking for the right solution
Once the digital world broke out, anyone seeking progress in business had to adapt and make the necessary adjustments to their approach. In the case of Starz Psychics, Natalie decided to introduce a new way of connecting psychics from different countries with their clients – through a website. Building a complex, multi-functional website was a challenge that she and her web developer, Tony, took seriously – they included all the necessary categories and thought of any kind of question or problem a potential client would have in order to provide the smoothest customer experience.
Implementing a chat feature 13 years ago was the first step, as people then were able to talk to the advisors through an online chat room. However, there was also high demand for online calls and that made Natalie go the extra mile and find the right solution to make it happen. Natalie told us:
I started looking and calling and reaching out to all these places that could do a phone service on a site. Well, a lot of them had good rates and all of that. However, I needed something called an API, which is an interface in my site that would allow the client account to talk with the site and vice versa. And a lot of them did not have it. And then I found MightyCall.
The API (Application Programming Interface) integration is something that makes MightyCall stand out and shine like the North Star. It can be used within 3rd-party apps to get such details as lists of calls in the account, information about a particular call, voicemails in the account and many other communication details. This was exactly what Natalie needed to introduce calls to the advisors through the website, which became possible after collaborating with the MightyCall team.
I just called MightyCall, Vishal [head of Sales in MightyCall] picked up the phone and we just hit it off. He wanted to know what I needed and this and that. So, he prompted me to create the account to show me exactly what it was about, what they had to offer. And I was quite impressed.
Achieving the goal
“If you can think of it, it’s possible,” Natalie said during our interview. Now it’s possible to start an online call right on Starz Psychics’ website. This is how it works:
You choose an advisor you want to connect with and then you have 2 options: to start a chat or a call. You create an account and then purchase chat minutes or phone minutes. After that you decide what kind of reading you want to do and then you’ll pay for it depending on the length, 10, 20 or 30 minutes, and then you get a receipt with the extension number to call in it. You start the call, enter the extension and viola! Enjoy your reading experience.
I have to thank the developers. They went above and beyond for me. And now, under each advisor we have a start a call and start a chat button. They’re green boxes and of course ‘Start a call’ is our MightyCall.
Expanding the functionality has ushered in a new era, and being able to conduct phone readings has opened new opportunities for Natalie’s team. The takeaway is, introducing new technologies into your business can be challenging, but the end result is worth it with the right solution.
Call duration limits: exclusive feature
Another thing that Starz Psychics needed was something very specific, which turned into a whole journey for the MightyCall product team.
Given the specifics of the industry, the calls have to be limited depending on how much the client had paid. The question is: how do we inform the customers about the number of minutes left on the call and then automatically stop the call once the paid time limit is reached?
You call and you get 10 minutes, well, you might want to talk past 10 minutes and not pay for it. I don’t want to say people are not honest, but that’s human nature. You keep talking.
MightyCall didn’t have this feature in the past, but once the demand was there, we accepted the technological challenge and eventually Natalie was able to use the new Call duration limits feature and not to worry about customers exceeding the paid limits.
Now MightyCall users of all plans can specify call duration limits when the system will automatically end calls. Additionally, you can upload an audio prompt which will be played to the call participants upon reaching the predetermined number of minutes left of the call to let them know how much time remains.
They [the MightyCall team] had to set it up and they did it. It’s flawless. It’s beautiful. They have it set up for each package, like at the 30 minutes I got 29 and it’ll say ‘you have one minute left’ and after one minute the call ends, which is what I wanted. It works perfectly.
This isn’t the first time MightyCall’s new feature has been dictated by the need of a client. This is exactly what we mean when we say we’ll do our best to satisfy our clients’ communication needs. The MightyCall philosophy is: if one client needs it, it means there are other businesses that would benefit from this feature tool.
Cherries on top
After all the essential features are covered, there are still some great perks left. MightyCall’s plans offer a pool of minutes per account, not per user, which means you don’t have to worry about a specific user reaching the limit, and, with the large number of minutes we provide, about reaching the limits at all:
Vishal and I were laughing about the number of minutes for the month, I said, ‘Oh, my gosh, I’ll never use all those minutes.’ So, it’s quite a few.
Another feature is the reason many businesses have started using MightyCall – call recording. It allows our users to go back to the calls and is used for many reasons, such as record keeping, quality assurance, agent coaching, etc.
I needed, of course, to say that the calls were recorded.
Bear in mind that in many states you’re legally required to notify the other participant on the call that it is being recorded. MightyCall offers prerecorded audio prompts that you can use for that purpose and not worry about any potential legal issues.
