Between Cinco de Mayo festivities and Memorial Day barbecues, May 2019 ushers in one more special event: National Small Business Week. #SmallBusinessWeek is an officially recognized week-long celebration of the 30+million small businesses in the USA. Held every spring for the last 56 years (this year falling on the week of May 5-11), National Small Business Week helps small business owners cultivate their passion, share advice on building success in the ever-changing business world, and foster new ideas. It also recognizes the achievements of small business owners nationwide and inspires others to follow their lead.
No business is too small or remotely located to reap the benefits of National Small Business Week 2019. Even solopreneurs with little knack for the formalities of business conferences will find lots of fresh ideas to seize from #SmallBusinessWeek virtual conferences and webinars. Uniting some of the most inspiring entrepreneurs nationwide, these webinars will befriend business owners with the crème de la crème of modern business leaders and coaches.
Did we mention that all of the best stuff of Small Business Week 2019 is free and accessible from wherever you are? Check out the details below!

This year, the Small Business Week Virtual Conference is held on May 7-8, from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm EDT. Topics include the most relevant issues for today’s small business and range from economics (the U.S. Economic Outlook and Its Impact on Small Business) to business finance (SBA Funding Programs Explained; Master Control of Your Cash Flow) customer service (Drive Growth with Customer Obsession) and marketing (Make Sense of Online Marketing: a Simple Checklist for Success; Create Effective Online Ads). Registration is free and is currently open.

Spotlight on innovation
On May 8 at 12 pm EDT, Comcast and Entrepreneur will partner to present a technology webinar as part of Small Business Week 2019. The webinar, called Turn Small Biz into Smart Biz: Technology for Growth, Productivity, and Customer Experience, will be invaluable for young and creative entrepreneurs looking to grow their startup or business in a modern, innovative way.
The webinar is also a great help for small business owners who’re steadily paving their way to becoming more tech-friendly. The organizers promise new insights into customer experience and eye-opening ways of setting up and using your existing infrastructure to create a cost-effective business environment.
Registration is free and open until May 8th.
#SmallBusinessWeek – the conversation continues
It may last only seven days, but National Small Business Week 2019 is a terrific way to share the larger business conversation not only with the experts, but with small business owners just like yourself, from all across the USA. Now that’s not a chance we get every day!
A great and simple way to join the conversation is by following #SmallBusinessWeek on Twitter. With this year’s Small Business Week already kicked off on May 5, pretty much everyone in business (from U.S. officials, to the media, press, and small business owners nationwide) is vying to contribute their share of information, motivation, and personal stories to the special atmosphere that is National Small Business Week 2019.
As a special treat, the SBA is preparing a live NSBW Twitter Chat with industry experts on May 10 at 12pm EDT. Follow the SBA on social media for more info and be sure to spread the word among friends and colleagues.
#SmallBusinessWeek may seem like one short week in the year, but it’s the time when the whole country comes together to celebrate and nurture big potential. The tradition of support and encouragement that National Small Business Week fosters reminds us why the event is an American tradition worth prizing – and a conversation worth joining, year after year.
